Standing shoulder to shoulder- love grows from friendship
brothers and sisters we are -all hewn from friendshipcompassion’s face forms in full glow
empathy’s gift born and nurtured from friendshiphope looms anew when born in acquiescence
sorrow’s sighs echo afar- fleeing from friendshippoisoned arrows fall hapless from uncovered backs
kith and kin grow stronger when formed from friendshipforward as one- one step- then another
I draw my strength from love- and (of course) from friendship

This one flows with the defiance of a marching song! The ‘shoulder to shoulder’ sets the tone.

A fitting response to the prompt. Such a connecting poem. Friendship is born on the wings of love.

This line shows the proportions of an unfortunate soul,
“sorrow’s sighs echo afar- fleeing from friendship”.
I hope to nurture friendships one day.

Having no sisters, but being fortunate to have several “sister friends”, I identify with your lovely words. Sadly, many of them have “gone on” before me … but I’m expecting a royal celebration when my time comes!
