Does the poet not do violence to her words in that charged ether
that bears witness to the pulling,
the pushing and the pernicious placement of
letters pleading to be left alone?
She ignores their cries of woe
daring them to arise and revolt
But they won’t- she knows
…..for they are hers to
chastise
baptise and sensationalise
(and sometimes)
turn into prose

I like the way you put the ‘p’ back in poetry with this poem, Viv. I felt great sympathy for those poor letters pleading to be left alone. Great use of assonance with the ‘oh’ sounds, conveying those ‘cries of woe’.

Thanks Kim! I wasn’t too sure about the brief…so I let my muse figure it out 🙂

This was such a delight to read. The words do feel left alone at times I guess 🙂

I love the acknowledgment of the charged ether the poet works from. This has such a sense of fun and wisdom. Lovely!
