To those who have been promised tomorrow
and throw caution to the wind today
and have not learned the lessons of
yesterday
How do you do it?
For those who have hidden their
nightmares better than others
-leaving them free to cast judgement
on all
How do you sleep at night?
To those who are judged
who feel that their personal hell is
entertainment for the judges
-don’t be fooled
They’ve just hidden their woes better than you
(Everyone has a thorn in their side)
Life is a head game
Some just play it better than others

This drew a deep sigh from me ❤️ especially resonate with; “How do you do it? For those who have hidden their nightmares better than others,” .. it’s not so much as hiding I guess… some are just better at putting on a brave face … everyone feels afraid at one point or another..

Thanks Sanaa. This is especially for those that have the temerity to judge. Not for us brave souls ❤️😊

Thanks for the reminder that we all have a thorn in our side. It’s easy for me to forget that when I look at someone who doesn’t share my views. Yes, we all have a thorn in our side.

This is the truth. It might be that people of judgment point fingers to keep folks from looking too closely at them. It is a horrible trait, at any rate. As you say, everyone has a thorn in their side. Well said, Vivian.

Thanks Sherry. It’s a common trait- sadly.

Though if we are wise, we’ll take the time to learn to play it better.

Oh and I refuse to play (have never quite understood the rules…or the point) and that brings its own fresh hell. But here’s to keeping it real in spite of. Thank you for your constant courage to speak up, Vivian!

Life is a head game and usually it is easier to succeed if you know what failure feels like. Beautiful and insightful writing as usual Vivian.

This is excellent … a wise and brilliant piece of writing. I have come to notice – over my longish life observing ‘game’ players – that those who have a ‘go-to’ place when they need a break from the game, seem to cope much better (and make better choices) in dealing with whatever gets visited upon their heads
… poetry … music … nature … running … the trick is to find THAT which confers a bit of peace and a sense of self-determination upon you … and to return to it – again and again. Amazing (to me at least) is that so many don’t even bother looking for that ‘time out’ from the game.

Some play the game very well while others, like myself, can’t seem to know the rules well enough to play. Thank you, Vivian.
