I watch
as the rain runs its hands
all over your body
while a gentle wind
wraps you in its embrace
-all the while covering your face
in blue leafy kisses
I watch
as the cold decides to
put away its teeth
-just for you
I watch
as the sun comes out
to towel you dry and warm you with
it’s face- taking care not to burn
All this I watch
-with intensifying jealousy

How can you blame the wind, it is only doing what it does best, reaching for all that’s forbidden…. yes that is jealousy.

jealousy is a strange thing. Well captured here, illogical and painful.

Vivian, you’ve taken on a solicitous and omnipresent rival. I feel your overwhelming frustration at what you’re up against.

I like the thought of being jealous of the rain and the wind.

You’ve turned rain and wind into an erotic tale! Well done.

A poetic twist upon a twist, with erotic & emotional overtones. I see the narrator as another tree, powerless to compete, and surly about it.

Oh to be a tree or someone so fortunate to be pampered in such a way. Gorgeous imagery. I like where this painting took you!

Jealousy takes on a new meaning, the wind and rain become sensual.

Great personification, with the jealousy emotion at the end.. It would be difficult to be up against the elements of nature – wind and sun.

How fitting since we use the term Mother Nature in that lovers embrace jealousy’s stinging taste.

I enjoyed the personification and the sensuality of weather and nature in your poem, Viv. I especially love the blue leafy kisses. I appreciate the jealousy, such a difficult emotion to contain.

This is fantastic, Vivian!
(should the cold decide “to” put away its teeth?)
