I refuse to forget the days
when the truth was irrefutable
when it was nailed to our foreheads
and burned through our tongues
I refuse to accept the greasy pole
of reasoning that beats its own drum while
insisting that it can never lie

This is an incredibly strong and evocative write, Viv! 💝 The truth can never be silenced for long. It always manages to burst right through!

Nice work, V.
Your solid resistance to the idea that half of all facts are lies is admirable. Nicely captured.

It seems that our politicians are keen to show their ability at climbing the greasy pole, or even dancing on it, Viv. But were they ever truthful?

Politics and the truth have never co-mingled very well. But, yes, trump has told 20,000 documented likes so far, and state Fox TV echoes and stimulates even m\ore falsehoods.

I think many know the truth without acknowledging it or speaking it. That is the worst part of it…when you can’t even blame it on naivety or lack of intelligence, when people are so attached to their beliefs that they don’t even care if their beliefs are inhumane.
