I’ve seen
miserable millionaires and content paupers
blessed widows and cursed couples
insomniac CEO’s and sleeping servants
Where you live, what you do,
how much you have or how loud you sing….
have nothing to do with
(finding)
peace of mind

They say that happiness decreases if you are either too poor or too rich… maybe it’s all about balance.

Oh yes! Often, the happiest have little materially, but are rich in spirit and gratitude. Wonderfully stated.

Yes, peace can be a choice we make. Sometimes an arduous or painful one. And sometimes means trading in those circumstances, or rising above to love ourselves in spite of them. Your title is quite apt; peace of mind is a quest.

I like the juxtapositions in this of the miserable millionaires and content paupers. Money does not equal happiness nor peace of mind. That is something that cannot be purchased but instead are found.

This is so poignant. I find that peace of mind comes when we are either at peace with life or striving to make things happen. ❤️

Peace of mind is good as it will prevent you from hating other people or being overtly jealous of them. Curiously it is good to have been poor at some time in ones life because you appreciate almost everything that have and unfortunately don’t want to throw anything away!

Though with the way the world economy is skewed, I’m not so sure about those content paupers anymore. I wish for a more balanced world!

I laughed at myself when I wrote that- I don’t think there are content paupers in a literal sense, but there are many very happy with just enough. But yes, in utopia, we hope for balance.
Can I just add that you’ve been blessed with the gift of words. Keep it up!!
