The journey of a song
is without puzzle or deceit
…seeping between teeth
…falling away from pursed lips
It may change in cadence and pitch
but a melody remains true
in that
it never lies
and a chorus echoes eternal
because
it never dies

I like this: The journey of a song is without puzzle or deceit. That is so very true! Great quad.

I wonder sometimes… some songs is very much a puzzle… maybe even the songs I like the most.

But they stay true to their form. And if a puzzle now…. probably will still be a puzzle in the future😀

I like the thought that the song (at least some songs) never lie no matter how many teeth and lips they move through.

If songs and poetry are eternal, it’s sad that without exposure. promulgation & longevity–they can just fade away.

Ah, but they never do…. they can be found on the lips of the unexpected. I remember once when a patient recited an entire poem of a little-known poet. I was entranced because his words lived on.

I had to think about this one. While the melody remains true, the delivery may falter, or the performer may try to deceive. But yes, the song itself never lies, never dies. I like this poem very much.

I like this poem–great word choice and imagery, but I don’t understand the meaning of the ellipsis. Are there moments of phrases left out that I need to imagine?

Love the illustration….music is a balm to the soul.
How very odd though….reading your line “pursed lips” — I just finished writing a poem and used those two words….and I’ve never used them before. And there they are, here. Simpatico?

Oh I love this! You have truly captured the purpose and power of a song. I’ve always felt sad for those who have little appreciation for music.
