Amidst cumulus clouds of silence
words lay writhing in the throes of death
-unable to breathe… hence lying still
These are the moments I dread the most
When words die on my lips
and silence thunders to the fore
deafening all ears with its roar

Like roller skating in a buffalo herd, you captured the bathos of shuttered communication.

Yes not being able to find the words can be numbing.

Silence had always been deafening so it had been said many times before!

“cumulous clouds of silence” – love this. No wonder I’m so fascinated by them – seeking a calm silence, as opposed to the thunderous silence of unspoken words.

really like the idea of deafening by loud words, which we need to hear more clearly.

I love the sound of ‘cumulus clouds of silence’ and the sound and rhyme of the end couplet! The roar of silence! Nicely done, Viv.
