If I could be as any flower
I would choose to be one that blooms in the darkness
-that flexes welcoming petals in the midst
of despair and murmuring
never fearing wind nor frost
but blooming always
no matter the length of darkness

I would too. A friend of mine had an all white garden from flowers that bloomed at night. Your poem is delightful. I love the thoughts of a flower blooming always, regardless of darkness.

LOVE! ❤️ The idea of one as a flower that blooms even in times of despair and darkness speaks volumes about their kind soul and strength of character 🙂 Beautifully rendered! ❤️

A wonderfully interesting poem Vivian. Blooming in darkness no matter how long… now that takes a lot of strength.

I love this Vivian, and the night blooming flowers have always fascinated me. I used to have a night blooming cereus years ago, but one dreadfully hot summer took it.

If only one is given a choice. It is good to hope for something that might turn out to be the desired outcome. It may just happen! It normally works that way.

Remember me of a night blooming Cereus that bloomed only once a year at midnight. The bloom did not last very long but it was exquisite to look at and had a scent that was intoxicating. Yes, how nice to be a flower that blooms to bring joy in the dark.

You will be leading us all down the evening primrose path . This was lovely Vivian. This world envelops both darkness and light, they are both beautiful .
Made me think of Psalms 139:12
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
I am late getting through the dVerse OLN, but I am glad I saw this. We both did flowers this go round
