(A father reads his letter to the groom)
The first to embrace her was me
The first to kiss her was me
The first to care for her was me
Still, I hope you will be the one
to accompany her for life
But if there ever comes a day
-when you don’t love her anymore
Please don’t tell her
…tell me
I will take her home

Beautiful.. I feel the girls are usually close to their dads… And they also take care of their daughter’s like they are some delicate dolls..
I remember my times when I was a kid and my dad was everything. Now after marriage I have become close to my mom but he is always their to guide and help..

That is such a sweet speech. It reminded me of David’s speech when Ellen got married – and he’s her stepdad.

Thanks for sharing. These are truly words of love. I didn’t have the opportunity for my dad to share a speech as he passed before I was married, so this one touched my heart.

Ohhhhhh…..yes, if you were sitting here with me you would have heard my audible sigh at the end of your post. A dad’s love for his daughter, unconditionally. Dad’s open arms….always open.
….and on another note….I just noticed you are a dentist? Oh my….so your work as well as your words help people to smile 🙂
