Author’s note: someone recently remarked on how quiet I was. I’d shrugged and smiled. I’m not sure we can explain how we’re wired. I don’t speak much…but I say plenty!
The pause of a woman
-not what she says
but.. what… she…. does…..not
You want to fill the cacophony
of silence ..of dead air
with a narrative of your choice
(don’t bother)
You’ll be wide of the mark
-unless you hear her voice
For, who knows what churnings or calm
swim beneath deep, still waters

Your words do your speaking. As does your silence. ☺❤

Who knows–but I know only the very brave should try to find out. :_P This is a pleasure to read, full of the emotional wrinkles which make this woman both complex and fascinating, and not in need of anyone else’s narrative. Thanks so much for playing.

A warning if I ever heard one. The listener should be watchful. In her silence, she roars and bites and who knows what else.

Most wonderful 55 Viv- the words themselves, the pacing, the sound, and the silence between the lines too … indeed, be careful before commenting or the need to “fill space” for lack of self of the other, indeed!

It’s so often not the words but how it’s said (or not)
