I walked a cobbled mile
down a cobbled street
and met a man so shy
his silence spelled ‘delete’
He threw me a smile
to take on this cobbled mile
So I teetered on my heels
jauntily turning my walk
into a new style

Today De hosts the Quadrille at dVerse and today’s word is ‘cobble’.

Cobbled streets + stilettos would certainly equal disaster on MY feet! But they sure do make for a fun poem!

I love how you’ve incorporated an old nursery rhyme, Viv, and marvel at those stilettos! I’ve never been able to wear high heels 🙂 My favourite lines:
‘…met a man so shy
his silence spelled ‘delete’’
and
‘So I teetered on my heels
jauntily turning my walk
into a new style’.

I went a bit nursery rhyme-y, too. It must be that cobble word that did it.

It’s the word…. and for me- my brain fries a little after Jilly’s ‘days of unreason ‘😂😂

Wearing even slight heels is not fun on cobblestones. 🙂

So much talk about the combination is a disaster (I saw the title and just laughed knowing the prompt – so clever). But I love how she sees her new walk as just a new style – now that is confidence. She has this… ergo: undelete. lol
