Her tough exterior
Masks a fragile interior
Her soft, gentle mind
Her gestures, so kind
I love this woman
Because she’s here by chance
She tried to take her life
That was long ago – and once
Her mis-steps, I accept
Her foibles, I’ve kept
She’s not meant to be here
She’s here by chance
I’m grateful for that failure
Every day with her, I treasure
Can’t take her for granted
She failed, and was re-planted
Her life, a gift to me
Casual in spirit, now calm and free
I love this woman
Who wasn’t meant to be
She’s not meant to be here
I embrace this second chance

After all, our heart deserves a chance at redemption too. Beautifully written Vivian.

Thank you 🙂 And for you to have mistaken it for your post means I’m much closer to perfection than I thought !!

You’re too kind. I don’t think I’m that good of a writer. 🙂
