What greater power is there
than to captain one’s own ship
in waters that run deeper
than one’s mind can fathom?
It is no easy feat to cradle water
by the strength of thought alone
BUT to be master of one’s fate
and the possessor of all one surveys
-one must be as assured as the deer
who has found its God-given gift
and as confident as the antelope
that has discovered
its divine purpose

Just beautiful. If we could find this balance, we would be doing well. I love those closing lines.

An eye-opening parallel captain to master of one’s fate to deer to antelope. Each brings us closer and closer to God. Beautiful.

We must be aware of our divine purpose and make it ours. Like the captain must know where to guide his ship. (I know you didn’t exactly say that, but it made me do some self searching.)
Nice write, deep, Vivian.
