-Rupi Kaur
Even if you are labelled as unworthy
even if you are dragged into the dark
even if you despise your own weakness
even if you are beaten
in body
in mind
in spirit
Even if your mind unravels
and you lose the beginning of you
There is a light somewhere
It may not be much light
It may be a spark as small as a grain of sand
Trust that light
Hold that light
It’s a beacon of hope
It’s just the beginning of a
new you

Such power even in the brevity of your verse, Viv! ❤️ I agree, one should never compromise when it comes to self respect in love and relationship. Thank you so much for writing to the prompt 😀

“Even if your mind unravels / and you lose the beginning of you” Even if you don’t remember who you were, there is always a chance to start again. I found myself thinking about the Childlike Empress from the Never Ending Story holding the tiny grain of sand in her hand and that was all Bastian needed to build the entire world all over again. All we need is that one wish, that one spark of hope.

Sing it, Sister! I stand behind all these truths, behind how well they fit human and world, behind what they promise. This is a war cry holding hands with a hymn of victory.
This is my favorite new piece by you, Vivian.
