To burn the midnight oil
or curl up early?

To cover my grey hairs
or put my wisdom on display?

To cycle in the rain
or embrace the comfort of my sofa?

To pay my bills
or pretend they don’t exist?

To cosy up to procrastination
or set my face like flint?

These questions
drift lazily between a willing heart

and a stubborn mind
