As I pull on my doubts
as if adjusting the hem of my skirt
I am sure of only one thing
It’s not more money I require
It’s not for fame I sing
It’s not for more friends to acquire
-it’s TIME
More of it – is my true desire

Oh Vivian….I ADORE the first two lines of this poem! They are absolutely wonderful!!!!!
And the idea of wishing only for more time….in my seventh decade now, I am very much aware that my husband and I are making memories for our grandchildren. The miles we have left in our journey are far fewer now than the miles we’ve already travelled. Thankful for every day.

Time is the currency of life. None of us knows how wealthy in time we are as we embark on our life’s journey. SIDS babies are born poor. Those over a 100 are filthy rich.

Amen. Running to try and catch up with myself. Too many writing projects to ever finish. But I guess it’s better than being bored (?).

Time is money so they say but it is a commodity not replaceable! That makes it precious!

I agree, for without enough of it, we are doomed to play catch up…

Hey Vivian — Hi poet!. Wanted to let you know I am “temporarily” sightless in my right eye from a retinal disease. It is a struggle fir me to write, but I will still wrote my pieces, going very slowly. Reading at any length is extremely difficult, and causes painful headache — so wanted to say thanks for contributing to OLN. But I won’t be able to read what you wrote, yet I wanted to visit. I spent a little time writing this best I could with one eye, i copied it, and I am pasting it in here to say hi. Got an operation coming up in about a week when the infection is down. Hopefully things will get back to normal.thanks, Rob

I love the doubts and the link to hems. Quite a reflection on time that always eludes us.
