“I cover my pages with pain-stained ink” – Smiles Under Pillows
Swirling colours drip
from my full pen
-bleeding into the paper
-forming words
that paint vivid pictures
of scenes that are perhaps
better off left unseen
….emptying me
(and at the same time)
exposing me

I like this. So many times we see blood beibg used as ink. It is good to read a different perspective on this. How the picture both empties and exposes you.

Luckily readers of those words will imagine those pictures by themselves with the way the words are placed. The words will expose you as a poet with a gift.

So wonderful that you write with swirling colours, Viv. Self-exposure is the bane or boon of the poet. :),

Thanks for sharing this colourful metaphor.. it is quite a decision when it comes down to exposure or closure.

Yep… I too relate to the emptying and exposing. And living in a house full of visual artists, I see this color and feeling bleeding onto and through the page in their work too.

Writing is such a powerful tool. On one hand it is used as a means of hiding our true selves and on the other for revealing our darkest, deepest secrets. You have done a great job Vivian in expressing this beautifully. You are a gifted writer. Keep going always!😍
