Beware the bearers of silence
for they are showing you a strength in
carrying weighted words
Words- nestled in a voiceless box
that rearrange themselves
but are in no hurry to be released
Words that lie in a languid stupor
-patient enough for their bearer
to pick (like choice fruit)
the right ones

Silence as “weighted words” is just wonderful, Viv.

Once released, weigh the truth of those words, carefully.

Silence can be weightier than words…some weigh their words wisely, others with ill intent.

Those weighted words in a voiceless box are ominous, Viv, and I wonder if the ‘right ones’ are truthful or, like politicians’ lies, dressed up as ‘choice fruit’.

That’s the conundrum-the speaker decides, displaying their true nature.

I think the word is sometimes too filled with words… the silence will help the one who listens to find those ripe words.

I like this. It speaks to me (silently, with economy of word-choice).

Silent ones are expected to be good listeners. Or day dreaming rather than paying attention.

I like the sinister tone. We only are allowed to hear about the most blemish-free berries. But actions will tell the truth of the condition of the fruit kept undercover. And silence, where there ought to be words, can mean terrible things depending on the moment.
