“Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It’s that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that’s what the poet does.” ―
if beds are made with more care
before the embracing of pillows
and before the curling of spine
….there would be fewer regretsif sheets are tucked in neatly
and blankets are straightened
before the head dive
and before the snuggles begin
..there’d be fewer complaintswith forethought
with foresight
…that’s when beds are made
before the snuggles
before the cuddles
before heads are laid
……that’s when beds are made

The old saying goes “make your own bed like you will have to lie in it.” Or the likes.

It settles me, knowing me my bed is crisp and linen-fresh – ready for the next embrace with my pillow 🙂 But this also is a great metaphor!

A great metaphor! Very wise. I love a good well made bed, and other things.

I love crawling into a freshly made bed. It makes the night feel more peaceful and the mind can settle.
