Do I wear a badge of honor
or conceal my shield of faith?
Do I let my light pierce the
darkness with searing screams
or hide it under a bushel?
It’s hard to know which- in a world
distracted by bright and shiny things
Its hard to know how -in a world
where strength is measured in
material wealth and the power it brings

Oh those closing lines are so true. However those who believe only in money will be in for a rude shock when they find it wont spare them from the effects of climate change. There will be some justice in that.

Interesting questions . Not easy to answer. Does one stand and be counted and suffer the inevitable consequences( and they will be negative) or does one keep ones head down, survive, and chameleion – like blend in with the furniture? Love thought provoking poems.

So often those with much to contribute in life, choose to keep their presence hidden, perhaps feeling more secure in the dark…
Excellent reference to light..

Yes greed is nasty as it fouls our view of the world and the people on it. We don’t take enough of our time in siting by a rippling stream or listening to birds singing in the trees.

Power is a glittery thing, doesn’t help ultimately and leads to darkness. Forbearance is a better option sometimes, not always though.

The world is a bit inside out right now, but we must all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun…

Extremely hard, when one measures the power of the light by what others see/think. And these days, one has to be a very special sort of creature not to do that. May we all make the best choice.

It’s hard to know when light will be a hindrance or a help. But hopefully we will get wiser as a species and remember the harmony that follows when things are given their proper due.

Yes the world is titled in favour of the 1% and I wonder if light can fix that….

This is a constant decision we must make. At times I feel led to witness my faith, but always I try to act the part of a Christian. Additionally family and friends, and their children read my blogs. I sure don’t want to disappoint with bad language or off color insinuations.
Good job, Vivian.
