The above image is from The New Yorker with the caption : “A few of us are going out after work to pretend it’s not the end of the world, if you want to join us.”

Do you remember the days before the internet?

When catastrophes were so very far away
and mental pictures were the mainstay?

Not so much today-with mouse clicks and endless tweets
A shrinking world in the palm of our hands
-a disintegrating world trying its best not to end
