It’s National Poetry Month! I’ve decided to rise to the challenge of a poem a day- for 30 days- in response to a prompt word (today’s is “key”). However, at the same time, I’ve decided to write 30 NEW poems for a poetry chapbook ‘Verses of April’– so that means TWO poems a day. I’m not certain I’ll be successful- but I’m going to give it a shot!
If I show you my palm
will you find clues to me
in these lines that trace distinctly?If I show you my palm
perhaps then you’ll give me the key
to unlock the hidden me
