I sip slowly from
the cup of forgiveness
and savour its sweet
nectar as it coats my tongue
-releasing words of kindness
It flows through my core
into my heart
unlocking chambers of love
-releasing ghosts of yester wars
summoning peace to the fore

Very poignant and deep. Wish we all did that. Releasing bitterness from our souls and minds.

What a wonderful thought, Viv, sipping from the cup of forgiveness! I like the gentle echo of the ‘or’ rhymes: core, wars and fore.

“releasing”/”unlocking”/”summoning” create this spell that leads to this atonement. I love how you have worked it out in a wise and thoughtful manner.
