Do you hear that sound?
it’s the silence of conscience
patiently awaiting
a voice
And what are those other sounds?
the tick-tock of time
the thumping of a million heartbeats
the thrumming of countless pulses
are they a mocking melody
or simply the sounds of time?

Time is a man-made instrument – I love that you’ve made it so musical, Viv! Such a shame that conscience has to wait in the background, when it should be singing along to the sounds of time.

Oh, I do hope that conscience gets its voice soon…..before it is too late! Before too much time passes to stifle the consciences altogether.

The sound of all our clocks… I would love that we all heard the heartbeats and let it guide our conscience…

When conscience finally finds its voice, watch out! The old order will be tossed out and a new one ushered in.

I think one of the reasons people avoid silence, because they are afraid of what they might hear when the din of the world is left behind.

Few things are as ominous as the sound of silence and the loud stillness time, there is something heart-squeezing about the way the stare at you–mouthless and eyeless, but still screaming and seeing.

Very nice Vivian. I have an old French clock that I have to wind with a key, and sometimes, I sit in a chair and listen to it. When it’s the only sound in the house, it is very meditative.
