Nervously biting my nails and tapping my left foot impatiently while staring at the clock of time…..these qualities are so not me. Is it a blessing or curse to be imbued with patience? That, I can never tell. Some would call it a gift, others- a laziness of spirit. To be able to wait decades for winter to become spring or forever for the sun to smile….I seem to be able to do it without noticing. Maybe it’s because I regard time in terms of eternity…but that’s another story. Have you got the time?
time is a bubble
filled with seconds and minutes
lost in the heavens

good question at the end of the haibun Vivian, do we really have the time, we don’t ever own it do e? just have the impression we do.

That is a gift I say as patience is a virtue. I am looking for that time lost in the heavens.

I like the question: “Is it a blessing or curse to be imbued with patience?” and all it implies. Beautiful from beginning to end.

I enjoyed your reflections. The debate over patience or complacency rings a familiar bell.

It takes faith and trust to be able to wait calmly. I think that being able to be patient while waiting is itself a gift.A patient person is more likely to treat others with kindness. I like the theme of the haiku – time has no meaning in eternity.

The God of eternity is certainly patient with us but is also working His will. Can we work while we wait? I think so.
