Karin, on Real Toads would like to see  a love poem. I’m not big on writing lovey- mushy poems. (I’d sooner read what others have written).  So, rather than wax lyrical about bleeding hearts, stars and moons – I decided to take a more pragmatic approach and explore one aspect of love itself.

why didn’t anyone tell me
that love was more than a feeling?
Imagine my surprise to find love
worming its way to the core of my being
knitting its web- deep within
having no form
yet clearly being seen

why didn’t anyone tell me that love never dies?
grab those shears
use the sharpest knife
and sever all ties
Love lives and breathes
knitted deep within
it just never, ever
dies
