Utopia… I think this only exists in those short flashes in life- only captured in moments. That’s why we ought to treasure precious moments because there’s always a challenge around the corner. Here’s my take on utopia…..
There must be a planet
or some distant place
where unconditional love exists
Y’know, that love that just hugs you
regardless of if you’re a saint or a skunk
There must be a time
in this life where we love our
neighbours as ourselves… and stay our hands
and tongues from ripping each other apart
Methinks there is a place of light
without fear or betrayal
without death or destruction
… with streets of gold and
unburdened spirits that sing
in complete freedom
while mouths dance in perfect laughter

“unburdened spirits that sing
in complete freedom”
There must be a place…..

If you find this planet, I want to live on it. Lovely sentiment, well-crafted poem.

There must be a “Planet”. I know a Heaven will be like this but I’m not thinking a planet except likely this one remodeled. It was a fun, wistful read, Vivian. Thank you.

I like the sound of that distant place, Viv, where love hugs you regardless of if you’re a saint or a skunk! Sadly the best neighbours ever have moved away after 18 years – I really miss them.

Definitely a utopia by any standards. One just cannot imagine how fast it’s likely to happen. That is the whole point! Wonderful word craft Vivian!

Many moms embody. The secret is to find unconditional love within yourself – Happily and more wisely the older I’ve gotten the choosier I’ve become and now my circles of women consist of friends who practice this kind of mutual appreciation. This particular Utopia is mine and I am forever grateful.
