I speak often of life being violent
-how it slaps and kicks
and is ever ready to trip
But I’ve changed my perspective
It’s not how hard you’re hit
It’s more about
the strength of your inner core
the bulking up of your minds’ muscles
and wearing the cloak of forgiveness
That’s how it’s done

Indeed, Vivian! You’ve poetically portrayed “turn the other cheek” so vividly and beautifully! 🙂

Humanity is dying these days, if you turn the other cheek they’ll slap that as well now! This is because we have been taught to hate, to be better than others, as though life is a competition. Then there is greed; for once there was enough but now we are encouraged to have more. More means that someone in the world has less. We are an ugly race.

Hmmm, this bears thinking about. I like the implication that forgiveness is a self-protective tool.
