“As I was saying,” PC Adams cleared his throat, “without the murder weapon, the case can’t progress.”
Peter lowered his head miserably. His wife’s killer was still free…….

Dear Vivian,
That ending certainly left a chill in the air. Nicely done.

Peter has a split personality it seems. I hope the police take a closer look at that bowl! 🙂

Peter doesn’t sound like a nice man at all. You turn that story around nicely, Vivian.

I certainly didn’t see the crystal bowl as a murder weapon when I received the prompt. Great use of the photo!

Yes, but eventually something gives them away. Usually, though, not until they’ve done some terrible damage.

Have you read the story Lambs to slaughter by Roald Dahl? The murder weapon was a frozen leg of lamb… which is being served to the police … The murder weapon is “probably right under our very noses ” …

Like Bjorn I instantly thought of “Lamb to the Slaughter” by Roald Dahl. I think Peter should expect another call from the police very soon. When the experts have identified the likely murder weapon all will become crystal clear!
