“I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.” Frida Kahlo

Where do anger and sorrow go
at the settling of dust ?
You always find those two wrapped
around each other like lovers

Where do they go after
being tasted by bitter lips
swallowed with a bottle of pride
and digested over time?

Mayhap they just disappear
but more likely they linger
like two ghosts enjoying a haunting

I keep a beady eye out for those two
giving them a wide berth
along the road of the living
You see,
anger has the longest claws that sink deeper still
while
sorrows never drown but swim in all the alcoholic drinks you can find

Me- I just keep my head down and let those two pass me by
