Blurred vision at sunrise
It’s no use looking at my phone
A slow shuffle to the shower
No longer the canter of yesteryear

Silver hairs along my hairline
camouflage makeup
for them and for me
No longer the youth of yesteryear

I watch you dress
a little slower than before
No longer shoes with laces
No longer the suppleness of yesteryear

The world has sped up
-or more likely – we’ve slowed down
Holding hands- we approach our sunset
-creaking towards our twilight years
