Let’s pretend that in the journey of self discovery
There’s a promised land in the middle of the seaThe eroded road of experience leads to the edge of destiny
Beyond this is a sea of emotions ever so untrustworthyLet’s pretend to swim across fervently, ignoring our debris
reaching the promised land for all to seeYes, yes! – let’s pretend we’re stronger than we seem
After-all, in life there are no guarantees

I think pretending helps…. after all it might just be a big tombola in the end.

Let’s pretend it is all going to be okay, if we have experienced all that a view like this can hold maybe it is. XX

Fake it til you make it, isn’t that what they say? I read this as a message of hope and courage, far more than just trite little management speak. I love the energy.

That is such an honest poem, Viv! I sometimes wonder if that’s all life is, one big ‘let’s pretend’. Otherwise we’d lose hope.
