I’m fighting a very bad case of flu….my first in 5 years! Writing has become difficult – as my words just won’t obey.
So I’ve decided to write about that, instead.
Words lie stagnant, unwilling to move
neither cajoling nor pleading
indifferent to my muse
they wait in number
watching feverish clouds pass
expecting revival

“Get well soon,” Vivian.
That’s what they used to say
Now it’s take this, take that
Still not too late, a shot

What is it that the body is up to, trying to get well? Watching, and waiting. Well done.

Life-kissed poetry tends to tell the best tales, methinks…
I hope the flu leaves you soon.

“indifferent to my muse

These lines and the last are my favorites.
I hope you feel better, sweetie.
