An acrostic poem with the word, “MOTHER”
Mired in obligations
Outsourcing, not an option
Tangled cords of love and chores
Her spirit embraces all
Echoes of laughter bring comfort
Resting when the day is done

This is so sweet… I love that we give her some rest after a long day.

The ‘rest’ part is a fantasy for all of us mums… but hey- this is poetry! 🙂

The day is NEVER done! Apart from that, I agree entirely 🙂

Ha! As a mum of 4…don’t I know it :)….but my dreams come true in poetry…where mums ‘rest’ at the end of day ( no washing machines, defrosting, searching for socks/uniforms or signing that damned letter the school has asked you THREE TIMES to do!)

Don’t remind me about those notes! Explaining why they got to school late, why they actually were in the German class but the teacher didn’t fill in the register that day….

Love the acrostic here and the application of “mother” to this image….she does look so peaceful here, right? And the chores above her head. Love your take on this image!

OK, I can see her as a mom now. All her children and the long day have worn out. You found an excellent explanation for her tired expression, worse than the old lady who lived in a shoe

I like the slight ambivalence here, in those “miring” obligations, but then the peace at the end. We wouldn’t change it.

We hope..😂…for rest. The baby in my home is 16years old- and I’m just beginning to rest and little.

I smiled at this one! a mother does seem to have so much up in her head and so cluttered but yet with something pretty too and knowing she can go rest there when all is done. very soothing lines.reminds me of a proverbs 31 woman. resting in contentment. my favourite line was “when outsourcing can’t be done! you captured a true MOM moment there!
