A day at the circus
entrance is free
standing room only
so bad-we can’t seeI carve a fence hole
and peer within
space for four eyes to hold
I draw mum closer to meour eyes pull to see
the full circus on display
loving just my mum and me
out enjoying her birthday

Nothing wrong with that. As long as it is a circus lol. Enjoyed the poem very much.

That has got to be one of the sweetest presents a son would give his mother. 🙂

Having peeked through fences as a kid this resonates with me as well especially as my own mother loved to take me on walks to discover things in the woods and by the streams.
