It seemed like we were always dancing
though the music was sometimes too fast
and sometimes a little too slow
and sometimes we hardly heard it at allThese were times I craved the most
you’d try to turn the volume up
but I resisted this in part
because all I ever wanted
was to listen to your beating heart

Oh, Vivian I like this. It’s so simple and so pure. Thank you for finishing it so beautifully. Isn’t that what we all want, in the end? To hear someone’s beating heart close to ours?
