Today is a poignant day. It never changes. Its always 6 days after my birthday. The day my dad left forever. His thin hands were enveloped in mine- the day he said ‘goodbye ‘.
Forever
my thoughts with you as ever
One foot before the other
steps ever lighter
because you loved me so
only as a dad loved his daughter
carrying me in your bosom
Me, holding your hand
until you breathed your last
Forever

We never forget do we. Grief is such a roller coaster of a ride but always the memories of the good times we had with our parents enables us to move forward knowing they would want us to live. Beautiful tribute Vivian.

I’m with you. No birthday, but I think the same anniversary. Or close enough. And it was my dad, too. But twelve years ago.

We never forget that moment or where we were when our parents left us. Thank God for the memories that keep us going – the happy times and all the love they gave us. You are in my thoughts Vivian. My parents anniversaries are both in January and I’ll always remember.
