Sitting in my chair
Sighing with despair
Can you fix me?
Can you do a repair?
Just two teeth he has
Masticating
A thing of the past
Gleaming dentures
I deliver
So life moves on
Come what may
He gets to crunch
Another day

Oh what a great gift to get… when you have lost your teeth this has to be the best you can get.

Those gnashers made me smile, Viv! The reminded me of my granddad’s false teeth that scared the pants off me when I was little. It seems that they are a thing of the past now and I hope I never have to have them.

Hopefully not! Floss/brush 2x per day, cut down sugar and regular check ups = no dentures!

What fun! I like your take on this so much. As a dentist, I am sure you have seen your share of these. No toffees, no ice to crunch on….but he has teeth!

I had an idea that we would get some smiles from this word, but the one at the beginning of your post beats them all. Fun take on the prompt, Vivian.

Hopefully the quality of dentures has improved over the years. My parents both had dentures in their 20’s; lots of gum shrinkage and discomfort–but both were smokers–mother dead at 39, father at 49.

Oh wow- so sorry to hear that. Yup, dentures can now be implant-retained…so better quality.

A nice take on Crunch! When I was a child I used to have a set of teeth like that the you could wind up and they would Crunch and Chatter!

I think you are a hero to chose your profession as you have Vivian.
I am one of those lumps of jelly that only visit a dentist when I really have to – as I did last week, and had a tooth extracted. And I became a bigger lump of jelly!
