Jackie was startled by the sudden commotion.
Alex and Sylvia tore past her, shrieking at the top of their lungs.
Panic seized her as she propelled herself after them. Catching up with them, she tried to make sense of their incoherent babbling.
“The witch!” sobbed Sylvia, “she’s chasing us!” Alex was shaking violently.
“The wardrobe….the lion”, he croaked.
Jackie shook her head. Kids’ games!
“I’ll check. It’s just your imagination.”
“NO, MUMMY!” in unison.
The children cowered in the furthest corner of the room as she slowly opened the wardrobe door.
“See?” She said triumphantly.
There was nothing there.
