Falling in love- not for the faint-hearted – even from afar
Leaves you exposed – even from afarThe shield of your heart, laid on the floor
Vulnerable heart on show – even from afarTrust is such a risk but risk it we must
Any harm looks harmless – even from afarNurtured, the heart swells, pierced, it shrivells
Its bleeding can be seen – even from afarWhen broken it still lives beating it’s beats
Our hearts sacrificed in love – even from afar

The repeating end word and rhyming word of each couplet define the cadence of the ghazal and directs its mood.

Vivian – deeply powerful – “Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, you’re not really losing it. You’re just passing it on to someone else.”
