Oh my. Well, there were probably better ways to escape his abuse, but I hope she doesn’t end up in prison over her actions. And no, I don’t think she did the right thing–but I’ve counseled women like her. She did the understandable thing.

I can imagine feeling driven to do that under some circumstances, if my child was under real threat of continuing violence. I hope she gets away with it.
