Many things have derived good
Which have returned
Christmas time
Anything belonging to it
A good time, forgiving
Pleasant time
Open hearts freely
To creatures bound
Put gold in my pocket
It will do me good
(#Blackout Poetry)
Charles Dickens- A Christmas Carol
Today, Victoria is hosting at dVerse poets pub and has presented a wonderful challenge. Some blackout or erasure poetry. Have a go…..if you dare!

This really encapsulates the meaning of Christmas. In my quiet time this morning that “forgiveness” thing kind of walloped me…we really can’t be happy without it. Glad you kept that right at the heart of your erasure. Thanks for joining.

You captured the heart of Dicken’s message, and the reason for the season; nice.

Never would have thought of a blackout poem. Love the idea. And it made me feel I was there in those times (think Goodnight Mr. Tom by Michelle Margolis, loved that book.
