She is the villain in his tale
The bad guy, his nemesis
From whence does she hail?
He knows not her genesis
But her name causes emesis
Their ears creak with anticipation
He has a tale to tell
Pray
Gather round for a spell

(#Quadrille)
Grace hosts dVerse today. We must include the word “creak” in a Quadrille: A poem of exactly 44 words.

I like the idea of gathering for a spell which is what a scary story would do to me if I listened to it.

I like this, reminds me of campfire stories when I was a kid. Of course no one slept after those! 😮 I especially love these lines:
He knows not her genesis
But her name causes emesis
Their ears creak with anticipation

Oral histories & storytelling are becoming lost arts, tis sad to say. Your tale harkens back to pre-radio listening; cool.
