Kristjaan has been researching “Wandering Spirit”, about the life of Yozakura, the unknown haiku poet. Recently he started writing the new episode in which he describes Yozakura’s first year as an apprentice of Basho. In that episode Basho and Yozakura start to create a chained verse, a renga. Yozakura has the honor to write the starting verse, or hokku. Basho writes the second verse. Our task is to help Yozakura complete the third verse. So here’s my take:
at dawn
birds sing their songs
dewdrops shimmer
cherry blossoms bloom again
shelter for young sparrows
hues ebb and flow
under a lunar steady gaze
as night sounds awaken

I like your verse, it fits in. I haven’t done that one yet, have to get on it. Nicely done:)
