(#Chaucerian stanza)
Expelled from heaven
For the sin of pride
Beauty, her only weapon
She searches with nowhere to hide
So with mankind she must abide
Infesting man with her sin
Blending in- as though kin

Frank Hubeny is hosting dVerse tonight. He’s asked us to use the Chaucerian stanza or rhyme royale: seven lines rhyming ababbcc. You are welcome to join us writing a poem in this form.

I like the idea of what has been expelled from heaven blending in to find somewhere to hide among us.

For most of us, beauty is not much a part of our body type, but it does thrive inside perhaps, where it is no sin of pride.

I feel sorry for the fallen angel – couldn’t she be given another chance?

That’s the nature of evil: to disguise itself in beauty 😊. I’m glad you enjoyed this.
