Moving cautiously
careful to avoid
the man in the mirror-
that was his greatest fear
that he would face this man
and all would become clear
eschewing people whose faces are mirrors
clinging only- to opaque visitors
hoping to avoid
seeing his own heart
seeing his own darkness
surely would tear him apart
Dreading the eternal mirror-
life’s ultimate goal
God’s own mirror
that reflects our very souls
