Chicago’s murder rate is high, but not as high as Donald Trump Blindly intimated on his twitter feed.

It actually had the eighth-highest murder rate among big U.S. cities in 2016.
During the mid-1990s, Chicago experienced a higher toll of murders than it did in 2016.
Other kinds of violent crime have fallen since the mid-1990’s as well.

Data from 2017 is still being collated with estimates of the murder rate being quite volatile. Factors such as warm weather tend to lead in increased violence, for example.

In addition, the rate of shootings (gun crime) has not risen as much as murders in 2017, based on current data.

Furthermore, with the advent of new policing strategies the murder rate is predicted to fall even further.

So, no need for the ‘Feds’.
