Louisiana Literacy Test – 1960’s
This 10 minute test was introduced to discourage potential black voters from registering. There are several other tests but this one takes the biscuit.
My heart had quickened by the time I’d reached question no: 4- and by the end of the test, I was furious.

And whoever administered the “test,” probably wouldn’t have gotten the questions anyway. But, you know, power. I despair of the human race. And the one thing I never got was, why should color determine anything i.e. intelligence, etc? The only time color should matter is when you pick the decor for your room(s).
